Sisters, Selma and Sylviana Baca participated in USATF meets this summer and at the state meet, held at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, NM on June 18 thru June 19, 2017.  
 
10 year old Sylviana made the finals in both the 100 and 200 meter races, 9/10 girls division.    
She placed 4th in the 200 meter final and placed 6th in the 100 meter final. Sylviana tied the 9/10 girls high jump record of 1.15 meters. She is the NM state champion in the 9/10 girls high jump. She advances to the Region 10 championships in Mesa, Arizona on July 7-9, 2017.  
 

12 year old Selma Baca competed in the 13/14 Girls long jump, high jump and the 400 meter dash. Selma won the third place medal in the 13/14 girls high jump and qualified for the Region 10 championships in Arizona.
