Go Longhorns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fifth/Sixth

2 pairs of headphones (1 inevitably breaks and students are in need by the spring) – KOSS is a good inexpensive brand.  Please, no earbuds.  Earbuds are not good for hearing health.

1 pencil box / bag
1 box of colored pencils

1 box of broad line Crayola washable markers
1     2” three ring binder to be used daily

1 pack of dividers for a three ring binder

1 glue (white glue like Elmer’s works the best)
Pencils of the type your own child likes – these will be stored and used by your child

Or, if you want – mechanical pencils – also stored and used by your child.  If you like mechanical pencils please get metal ones so they last and be sure to have a lead supply.
2 pink or white erasers (the white plastic ones erase better)
scissors
gym shoes (to be left at school)

1 or 2 boxes of good facial tissues.  Puffs with lotion received high student ratings this year during the allergy apocalypse.

** Optional **  A roll of unique washi tape for quick and easy marking of a student’s supplies.  Washi tape is a thin masking tape with interesting print (mine is goldfish-print this year).  Look online or in the stationary / scrapbooking section of a store.

If you have one, 1 old kitchen apron that does not have sentimental value – these are ideal for art cover-up.  2018 – 2019 will be printmaking again, and that is messy.

In 5th and 6th grade your child will be in charge of his or her own snacks – keep this in mind as the school year approaches and you see good sales.

For this year I added rulers and protractors to the class order.  Those resources will come in and simply be available in a bin for when students need them.  Also, you do not need to purchase a compass for you student – the compasses from the Everyday Math program are better than anything we can buy at normal stores these days.
